Around The World Embassy Tour in Washington, DC May 14, 2011

Where to begin. Let me start with the BEST to Worst.

1.) Nicaragua
  • Nicaragua Dark Rum sample. Nicaragua White Rum with Orange Juice sample. J
  • Live Band and Folk Dancers. J
  • Native Coffee, Cookies and some Cheeses J
  • All in all a “great gift bags plus a Native Straw Hat” J
  • Happy Greeters J

2.) Argentina
  • Got to taste some cookies with caramel milk spread J
  • Malta tea L
  • Live Tango Dancers, plus I found out that I have an uncle from Latvia same last name as me, who knew? J
  • Happy Greeters J
3.) Japan
  • Native Cookies J
  • Actual Green Tea J
  • A demonstration of a future Robot named HAL :) Very interesting
  • Gift bag

4.) Venezuela
  • Fried Cheese J
  • Sugar Cane Water with Lime Juice and Ice J
  • Folk Dancer J
  • Interactive Wooden Toys J
5.) Dominican Republic
  • Big cup of Dominican Rum with Sprite and Ice J
  • If you wanted food you had too pay for it L
  • A person selling jewelry, accepting cash only L
6.) Brazil

  • Dinning Room Ceiling was interesting J
  • Plus we were asked to give an opinion, we were recorded, my brother did most of the talking J
7.) Saudi Arabia

8.) Mexico
  • Belgium Cookies L

Over all Mexico and Brazil I am very dissappointed. Mexico I am so sad, it just makes me not want to visit you at all next year! For this event you "need good pair of shoes" a "small car to park", plus know your way around DC. Of course there were some more Emabassies but with time that was given, you really can't visit all of them. I think The Cultural Tourism DC should expand the time limit to maybe 6:00pm instead of 4:00pm. Also have bus shuttles running more instead of waiting if they get full or not.
